Rescale launches new program for academia

Rescale, the leader in enterprise big compute in the cloud, today announced its launch into academia with their ScaleX Pro for Students and ScaleX Pro for Classroom products.

With ScaleX Pro for Students, students have the ability to receive free access up to 500 core hours on Rescale’s high performance computing (HPC) multi-cloud platform, access to over 300+ simulation and deep learning applications, and acceptance to Rescale’s academic partner programs and University competitions. ScaleX Pro for Classroom allows professors to have the enterprise group features at a fraction of the price. Professors can now control, monitor, and collaborate with students’ day to day engineering assignments.

“Engineering students are currently experiencing long project wait times and limitations to the number of simulation submissions to HPC at their university provisions,” says Gabriel Broner, Vice President and General Manager, High Performance Computing at Rescale. “Rescale’s ScaleX Pro for Students and ScaleX Pro for Classroom solve for today’s academia pain points by providing students with the ability to run projects immediately and unique access to different technology partner programs such as to cloud service providers.”

Universities may be limited today to accessing their on-premise systems. The Rescale platform enables students and researchers to submit jobs on-premise, across HPC centers, or to the public cloud, enabling to accelerate research by removing queues and utilizing the best architecture for each job. Rescale administration capabilities enable universities to use resources efficiently and manage budgets eliminating cost overruns.

“With Rescale’s ScaleX Pro for Students and ScaleX Pro for Classroom, our students can now instantly receive access to the latest hybrid cloud architecture and extensive Rescale software library and partner programs,” says Dr. Pritesh Narayan, Associate Head of Department, Engineering Design and Mathematics, University of West England, Bristol. “Not only are students able to execute design simulations with greater detail, but they are able to establish a more efficient and creative workflows.”
